Video Review: Origins of the Minotaur? TED-Ed

Hi!
So during English we were assigned to pick a video from TED-Ed and write about it. I had a really hard time picking because there were SO MANY interesting ones! I watched around 5 until I finally settled on the video above, which is naturally mythology related, since I love those stuff.

Why do you pick that particular video?
I love love love mythology, especially greek mythology, so yeah. Also I personally think that the minotaur is one of the most interesting creatures in greek mythology, and I'd love to learn where the myth bloomed from.

Was it easy or hard for you to understand the video?
The video was quite easy to understand, since when I really enjoy something I use every single inch of my narrow attention span to process it. And I really did enjoy it, so that's good, I guess. Right?

What do you like most about the video?
I don't know, it was overall very interesting so I don't know what I like most. I think the best part is the whole idea, and also the way of telling each fact. I really like how they compared the minotaur and pele, the flame goddess from Hawaii mythology. Both of those creatures bloomed from natural disasters occuring in the area, so it was very interesting that the people chose to rationalize that fear into a mythical, magical creature.

Write 5 difficult words that you find from the video and the meanings.
  1. buoyant [adj] not easily depressed; cheerful. cheering or invigorating.
  2. volatile [adj] tending or threatening to break out into open violence; explosive
  3. subduction [noun] the process by which collision of the earth's crustal plates results in one plate's being drawn down or overridden by another
  4. thriving [verb] to prosper; be fortunate or successful. to grow or develop vigorously; flourish:
  5. peninsula [noun] an area of land almost completely surrounded by water except for an isthmus connecting it with the mainland.

So I think that'll be it for this post. I hope you enjoy!
