Midterm Review: Epic Java

Hi!
So today is Friday, the last day of our midterm reviews and the subject for today is English. We were assigned to watch a 30 minute long nature documentary video, titled Epic Java, and then write a post about it. Like the title, the video is pretty epic. (I will leave the trailer attached at the end of this post)
I get bored easily, so normally a 30 minute documentary video would bore me to death. But this one isn't nearly as boring as most. It's actually very intriguing and I find myself paying attention to the details of every shot. It's as if I can see the effort the creators put in it. And it's also really fascinating to see how beautiful Java is. Our land is a mixture of stunning nature and rich culture, and the video really serves us the best of it.
I think the purpose of the video is to show the audience how Java is, like to showcase the wonders of this land. Kudos to the makers, their hard work shines through the video. I feel awed watching it.
I can hardly pick a favorite scene, I like all of it. But the top 3 are:
1. Sumur Gumuling, Tamansari, Jogja.
This scene gives me goosebumps. It shoots through a hollow window, framing the empty staircases meeting at the center. I like how it gives a bit of a shiver down my spine. I think the scene is pretty haunting, not in a ghostly way but in a way that's hard to explain, like, the feeling that it contains a lot of memories. Like they are a silent witness to all that has happened.
2. Pangandaran
I don't remember the exact location of the scenes shot here, but all of them are equally stunning. There's this last scene where the camera frames a large rock, like an island but way taller than one normally is. The colors dominating the scene are blue, brown, and grey, but all of them are in a pale shade and I think that's the most beautiful part of this scene. The colors are so soft and peaceful and it makes me so serene just watching it.
3. Pantai Santolo, Garut
Last but not least, this scene particularly stood out to me. It shoots a single, dried up tree, with the background of a million stars scattered about. It's really beautiful, I can't explain, it's just plain beautiful.
If I could choose any place in Java, I'd choose to go to Bromo. I don't really know why but I feel like the place is so intriguing. I want to climb to the peak and watch the view below. It doesn't even have to be dawn or dusk, even in midday it's beautiful. And also there are horses. No explanation needed. Just, horses.
So that's my take on Epic Java. It's an amazing documentary and I guarantee that you won't be bored.
