Article Review: The Jakarta Post

Hi! Today I'm going to review some articles from thejakartapost.com for English class. We are to pick 2 articles about Java and write something about it, so. Yeah.uno
The first article I chose is about the FPI, [here]. I picked it because I saw tons of FPI articles (apparently it's still all the rage right now, wow) so I plucked one from the list. The main idea of the article is that FPI won't quit, if you watch the news you'll know the issue. Apparently our aspiring(?) governor, Basuki Ahok Tjahaja Purnama said something offending Islam (al maeda 51?). FPI is trying to frame Ahok (despite his apologies). It's still an ongoing struggle. I honestly think the whole feud is pointless, people should calm down. Civilians should live up to their names (you know, civil), and stop saying things like 'darah Ahok halal'. I know people have opinions and religions, but, really, that's not a way to do your religion justice. It's not my place to say what's right, since admittedly I'm not very educated on Islam, but as a Muslim I can say that we aren't supposed to nurse a grudge/conflict, we are supposed to solve it accordingly as taught by our prophet and the Qur'an.
This is a sensitive issue, since it's related to religion, so I ought to not speak too much. What I learned: religion is a really sensitive issue, the FPI should chill a little more, and Ahok should really filter what he says, especially on religious topics.

The second article I read is a lot more refreshing, [here]. it's about 5 deliciously attractive (?) traditional javanese treats! kue pancong, kue rangi, kue ape, kue leker, and kue cubit! i haven't tried at least 3/5 of it, but I really like kue cubit. I love kue cubit. (Doesn't everybody?) It's really good. Kue cubit green tea are also really good.
What I learned: traditional treats are just as good (or even better? than/) as any other!
Thanks for reading!
